Green Tech Industry: Green Tech Industry: BMLUK, the Federation of Austrian Industries, and Green Tech Valley Join Forces to Strengthen Austria’s Environmental Technology Sector

Through a joint declaration of intent, the Federal Ministry Agriculture and Forestry, Climate and Environmental Protection, Regions and Water Management (BMLUK), the Federation of Austrian Industries’ Green Tech Industry platform, and Green Tech Valley are sending a strong signal for the future of Austria’s environmental and energy technology sector. The aim of this collaborative partnership is to further strengthen the innovative capacity, competitiveness, and international visibility of Austrian greentech companies, thereby sustainably reinforcing Austria as a business location.

Federal Minister Norbert Totschnig (BMLUK):  “The green transition presents major opportunities for Austria as a business and innovation hub. By joining forces, we are pooling our expertise and strategically strengthening the technologies that are crucial to competitiveness, value creation, and sustainable growth in our country.”

Kari Ochsner, President of the Federation of Austrian Industries in Lower Austria and Chair of the new IV Green Tech Industry platform: “Austria has built up industrial expertise in energy and environmental technologies that is in high demand worldwide. Maintaining and expanding this position requires clear framework conditions for investment, innovation, and production. This is precisely why the IV Green Tech Industry platform was established.”

Bernhard Puttinger, Cluster Manager of Green Tech Valley: “Innovative pioneers, research institutions, and companies have transformed Austria—and Green Tech Valley in the south of the country—into a global technology hub for climate protection and the circular economy. Austria is also among the top three leaders in the EU-wide Eco-Innovation Index. By joining forces, we aim to further strengthen jobs and revenues generated by environmental solutions made in Austria.”
